General guidance

  • PCI regulations require that your phone's operating system is maintained and supported by Google. Your smartphone will need to be operating the latest operating system (currently Version 9+) and receiving the latest security updates.

  • Tap to Pay functionality is available on devices that are supported by Google Play Services.

  • Tap to Pay requires NFC compatibility (CPoC Only).

  • Currently, Apple devices are not supported on Tap to Pay.

Known issues with specific device models

A number of users have reported issues when using Tap to Pay on selected Xiaomi smartphone models. Please make sure your phone is running the latest updates. We recommend that you avoid using Tap to Pay with the following phone models.

  • Xiaomi Redmi

  • Xiaomi Redmi 8

  • Xiaomi Redmi 9

  • Xiaomi Redmi 10

Potential issues with specific device models

A small number of users have experienced difficulties when using Tap to Pay on selected Samsung smartphone models. If you encounter any issues when using one of the following smartphones, please make sure your phone is running the latest updates. Alternatively, get in touch with us at Pomelo Pay for assistance.

  • Samsung X Cover Pro

    There is a patch being developed by Samsung to address any issues. This will be available soon.

  • Samsung S10s

    Please contact Samsung for a firmware fix if you have any issues when using this smartphone.
