First things first

The easiest way to get the best out of our app and website is to speak to our team. All you need to do is to book a time in with a customer success manager and they will give you a call at a time that’s convenient for you. On this call you can explain a little about your business and what you are looking for. By doing things this way, we can make sure that we recommend the best products for your specific needs.

Connect your bank account

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to add your bank details so we can remit your payments. You can do this simply and quickly in Settings on the app.

  1. Open the Pomelo Pay app.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Go to Bank accounts.

  4. Click Add bank account.

  5. Enter your bank account details.

Want to get the ball rolling? Make a test payment

One of our most popular features is payment request - a simple tool that allows you to send a link to a customer requesting a certain amount of money. The customer clicks on the link and can send you the money instantly via credit or debit card, Google Pay or Apple Pay. Want to see it in action and find out what your customer sees on their end? Make a test payment:

  1. Open the Pomelo Pay app.

  2. Go to Payment request in the menu.

  3. Enter £1 in the amount (the minimum charge) and click continue. You can add a reference if you like, such as your name, but it’s not mandatory.

  4. Click Send email, enter your email address, a short message and press send.

  5. Now check your email and look for an email from Pomelo Pay. This will be what the customer sees. You can view it on a computer or on your phone but think about how your customer is most likely to view it.

  6. Click on View and Pay request. Again, this is what your customer will see. Click on the Pay option.

  7. On the next page you will be presented with a payment method. This will either be credit/debit card or Apple Pay/Google Pay. Click on pay to pay yourself £1.

As soon as your customer (you, in this case) pays the £1 you will be notified. The payment will show up in Transactions in the app and it will hit your bank account the next working day.

Well done! You’ve made your first payment. Now, try sending a payment request to a customer. If you don’t have their email address you can also send it by SMS or WhatsApp.

Pomelo Pay offers a range of tools to make payments easier
